The Truth About "Free" AI Image Generators
Here is what "free" means on Wurt.app, and how the other big names handle it:
- Wurt.app — Free to start, with no subscription. Eligible new accounts can get free starting credits, and you buy more credits only when you want to.

Everyday images, original art, and photo edits at 4K, for printing, large displays, or anything you want at full size. It is slower and takes up to nine reference images.
Memes and Pro (SFW)
Memes is for pop-culture and meme looks. Pro (SFW) is for precise, professional SFW images and edits, and it uses the most credits.

What changed for creators in 2026
Wurt.app is a browser product for stills (Picwurt) and short video (Vidwurt), with optional High Fidelity prompt enhancement, image-to-video from a reference photo, and multi-model quality tiers. Wurt.app is free to start, and you pay per render instead of a mandatory monthly seat for every experiment.
- Prompt fidelity: enhancement is designed to reinforce what you asked for—including adult creative work where allowed—not silently replace it with a safer paraphrase.
- Image → video loop: generate or upload a still, then animate motion that stays grounded in that subject. See image to video.
- Social-first exports: portrait and landscape ratios for Reels, Shorts, TikTok, and feed art—see the for creators hub.
- Switching from another tool: see why creators move to Wurt.app on the alternatives pages.
New guides live under Learn. Product entry remains the homepage generator.
